DESCRIPTION
The Nikon MONARCH 5 8x42 Binocular delivers clear, natural viewing in a lightweight and comfortable design suited to hunting, wildlife observation and extended outdoor use.
Nikon’s extra-low-dispersion ED glass helps reduce colour fringing, while dielectric and phase-correction coatings on the roof prisms improve brightness, resolution and colour fidelity. Its 8x magnification provides a steady image and practical 110-metre field of view for locating and following moving animals.
The nitrogen-filled body is waterproof and fog-resistant, with rubber armouring providing a secure grip and additional protection in the field.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What does 8x42 mean?
The binocular magnifies the subject eight times and uses 42mm objective lenses. This combination provides a steady view with good light-gathering ability.
Is it suitable for use around dawn and dusk?
Yes. Its 42mm objectives, 5.3mm exit pupil, ED glass and coated prisms provide good performance in available low light. It is not a night-vision device.
Can it be used while wearing glasses?
Yes. The 19.5mm eye relief and adjustable turn-and-slide eyecups make it well suited to many spectacle wearers.
Is the MONARCH 5 the same as the newer MONARCH M5?
No. This is the earlier MONARCH 5 model with product code BAA830SA. The MONARCH M5 is a later-generation model with slightly different specifications.
Is it waterproof?
Yes. Nikon rates it as waterproof to a depth of one metre for up to 10 minutes. It is also nitrogen filled to help prevent internal fogging.
